The above listing of college personnel is subject to change by adding or deleting personnel as the need changes or job descriptions change. The college also contracts security services through an external agency.
Section 2. Describe the extent and nature of enforcement authority of campus security personnel.
The personnel listed above report and document immediately any criminal activities, attempts of crimes or hear say of any criminal activity on the campus. They will contact the college deputy sheriff or call 911 when necessary.
The college personnel including campus security personnel will work with the police or any other agencies to resolve any emergency or criminal situation.

The college deputy sheriff at Ashland Community & Technical College maintains a working relationship with colleagues in the local law enforcement and emergency service agencies.
Section 2: Description of Information Programs.
- Campus safety and security:
New students are also informed during orientation of how, who and where to report a crime or any emergency situation that occurs on campus. Students are also given planners containing emergency information and reporting procedures.
Faculty and Staff are informed yearly about new safety procedures and guidelines for emergency procedures. New faculty and staff are informed of the emergency procedures and reporting guidelines during their orientation.
- How to report a crime:
Reporting crimes – All criminal matters occurring on campus should be reported to any of the above listed campus security authority personnel, immediately. The police will provide ACTC with criminal incident reports so that we can comply with the reporting requirements of the Federal Cleary Act and the Michael Minger Act.
Ashland Community & Technical College maintains a logbook to keep all criminal or emergency activity documented. This information is available on our web site for students, faculty, staff and the public.

- How to prevent crimes:
Ashland Community & Technical College continues its work to make its campuses safer. We have installed camera systems, added lighting, and taken a variety of steps to improve security on each of our three campuses.
- Special Reports:
At Ashland Community & Technical College we inform our students about hazardous situations in a variety of ways. Information is disseminated throughout the campuses on posters, television monitors, student e-mail and shared in classes by faculty and staff. The community is informed of these situations through radio stations, television news and local newspapers.
Section 3: Campus Crime Statistics
The Michael Minger Act is a Kentucky state law that requires public colleges and universities as well as private institutions licensed by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) to report campus crimes to their employees, students and the public on a timely basis.
