Program Manager, Joan Flanery, is a participant in the institute designed to build leadership skills of a selected number of program managers. Participants meet several times, read and discuss leadership books and participate in Baldrige Training for Adult Education.
Three program instructors - Sherry Combs, Karen Poore and Penny Qualls - are participating in KAELI which is a professional development initiative that provides an innovative yearlong graduate level course for selected adult educators in literacy. It is designed to deliver research-based innovative, professional development in literacy to advance the knowledge and instructional practices of adult educators in Kentucky. The training is being provided through Eastern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky University.
