Fiddler Tara Sansom Performs Dec. 6 & 13

Fiddler Tara Sansom will perform Thursday, Dec. 6, and Thursday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at the ACTC Technology Drive Campus.  She will demonstrate different styles of Celtic, Bluegrass and Old Time fiddle playing, with a focus on traditional Appalachian music from the region.

A five time Pennsylvania State Fiddling Champion, she has performed, competed and taught throughout the U.S., Ireland, Scotland and Canada. She has a Masters in Arts and Liberal Studies from East Tennessee State University.

Sansom has over 12 years of experience teaching private lessons on various instruments and most recently taught in the Traditional Music Program at Morehead State University. She currently resides in Catlettsburg, and will start teaching Kindermusik at the Paramount Arts Center in January.

Presented as part of the Smithsonian New Harmonies Exhibit “Celebrating American Roots Music,” these free performances are offered in cooperation with the Paramount Arts Center.
