The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and its 16 colleges will observe Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Day with events scheduled across the state.
KCTCS colleges and the System Office will sponsor or participate in various MLK celebrations this month. Coinciding with these events KCTCS will promote its annual Super Sunday initiative to be held statewide Sunday, February 24.
KCTCS and each of its 16 colleges will partner with African-American churches for Super Sunday events throughout the state to promote college planning. Following the worship service, college representatives will host college fairs to provide information on admissions, degree programs, financial aid, transfer opportunities and more.
“Super Sunday is our way of working with community leaders to show young adults that a college education is within their reach. KCTCS has a strong commitment to diversity and ensuring every citizen in Kentucky has the educational opportunities they need to succeed and find high-wage, high-growth jobs,” said KCTCS President Michael B. McCall.
