The Adult Learning Center (4818 Roberts Drive) is the original component of the program. The Center has open entry where learners may visit or enroll at any time during hours of operation: Monday through Thursday 8:30 to 3:30 and Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings from 5:00 to 8:00. Flexible scheduling is a central concept of the Learning Center.
Instructors provide one-on-one instruction whereby the learner may work at his/her own level and pace of learning. Each learner sets his/her own schedule to attend which allows flexibility around shift work or other personal scheduling obligations. The Center has a vast array of materials, equipment and resources that can be utilized, i.e., computers, videos (including KET's GED Connection), Brainchild study gadgets, software and workbooks. The following services are provided at the Learning Center:
The Center is the state designated site in Boyd County to administer the official GED Practice Test. The test may be taken anytime during the hours of operation.
Each Wednesday an Education Counselor from CEOC is available at the Learning Center to meet with individual learners in their transition to college. The Learning Center also serves as a One-Stop satellite center where job seekers may initiate job searches on the computers.
