Funding Sources
We can often find funding sources to help you pay for your
training, whether that training is done by ACTC, by an independent
consultant, or even by your own internal trainers. Training can be offered
at ACTC, at your site, through the intranet or at a third party site. For
more information or to see if you qualify for these funds, contact Larry
Ferguson at 326-2232, or e-mail at
Bluegrass State Skills Corporation (BSSC) offers two
programs:
Grants-In-Aid: This program is designed primarily for
manufacturing, but can also be applied to service organizations in many
cases. Approved grants pay half of your training costs, up to a maximum of
$25,000 per company. Payment is reimbursement to the company after training
is completed.
Skills Training Investment Credit Act (STICA): This program is very
similar to the Grant-In-Aid, except that reimbursement is in the form of tax
credit, rather than actual payment. Trainee wages can be included as costs
and there is a $100,000 max in approved credits per company per fiscal
biennium
Kentucky Workforce Investment Networking System (WINS): Kentucky
WINS is specifically designed to fund high-tech training for workers. It
does not apply to "standard" computer training such as learning to use
applications or basic computer concepts. It will pay up to 75% of cost of
services with the company required to pay 25% cost of services and 10%
administrative fee.
Workforce Alliance: Workforce Alliance funds are provided to the
Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) by the Department of
Adult Education and Literacy (DAEL), and are intended for entry-level
training.
