Associate Degree Nursing

A.D. NURSING APPLICATION GUIDELINES

A class is admitted twice per year.

In order for the applicant to be considered for admission the following must be on file by February 1 for the August daytime program or by October 1 for the January evening program:
  • All applicants must complete a nursing application which is available in the ACTC Admissions Office at the College Drive Campus. Applicants who are not currently enrolled in classes at ACTC must fill out an application for admission to the college, available in the Admissions Office and also online.
  • Official high school transcripts or GED scores. 
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary education or training. Transcripts must show all periods of enrollment 
  • Official results of the American College Test (ACT) or the National League for Nursing (NLN) Pre-Admission test

Application Forms for both the daytime (pdf) and evening (pdf) Associate Degree Nursing programs are available from the admissions office on the College Drive Campus.

ADMISSION PREFERENCE CATEGORIES

Acceptance into the Associate Degree Nursing program is based on a selective admissions process utilizing a weighted point scale based on the following:

  • Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate above average standing in high school or on the General Education Development (GED) examination.
  • Preference is given to applicants with a score of 21 composite or above on the ACT or 60th percentile or above on the NLN Pre-RN.
  • Preference is given to applicants who have completed 12 or more credit hours in the approved curriculum with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better from any regionally accredited college.
  • Preference will be given to Kentucky residents.
  • Applicants whose cumulative grade point average is below a 2.5 or whose ACT  falls below 21 composite or whose NLN Pre-RN score is below 60th percentile, are not considered for admission.
