Admissions Check Sheet

1. Complete an application for admission.
2. Take the COMPASS (ACTC's Placement Test). Applicants may submit results of the American College Test (ACT).
   Note:
• Applicants who have not taken the ACT must complete the COMPASS placement exam.
• Applicant who wish to take the ACT may use the ACT Practice Test to help study for the exam. 
3. Submit your Official Transcripts Applicants must submit an official high school transcript (with final grades and date of graduation) or an official copy of GED Scores. Applicants must submit official transcripts from all other colleges, or post-secondary schools attended.
4. Apply for Federal Financial Aid and Scholarships
5. Submit documentation of Tuition Waiver, Veterans Education Benefits, and/or External Funds. (External funds are monies that will be paid by a third party such as external scholarships, WIA, Workers Compensation, Vocational Rehabilitation, etc.)
6. Attend New Student Orientation
7. Meet with an Advisor
8. Register for Classes
9. Activate KCTCS email account.  Remember to check it often!
10. Visit KCTCS “SA Self Service” to learn about on-line student records and services such as financial aid module
11. Pay tuition, set up a payment plan, or confirm that adequate financial aid is in place before the deadline for payment
