It is critical for students (and parents, IF student is a dependent), to get a PIN to be able to e-sign the FAFSA and other important applications.

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the process that starts it all. After you get your PIN, apply for the 2008-09 Award Year (July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009) at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.  Once ACTC receives your information, we contact you with further directions.  The 2008-09 Award Year includes Fall 2008, Spring 2009 and Summer 2009.

Types of Financial Aid

Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) is a member of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.  Updated financial aid information for details on types of aid, general student eligibility, cost of attendance and other important topics will be updated as information becomes available. ACTC participates in the following U.S. Department of Education Title IV programs:

• Four Types of federal student aid grants: Federal Pell Grant and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Academic Competitiveness Grant, National SMART Grant
• Federal Work Study (FWS) - under construction
• Student Loans - Federal Family Educational Loan Program (FFELP) also known as Stafford Loans
