Office of Security

Reporting of Criminal Actions or Emergencies

As with any other community, Ashland Community & Technical College will encounter accidents, crimes, injuries or other emergencies.

In the case of reporting a true emergency, the caller should call 911. For persons who call from campus, dialing a (9) is required to gain access to an outside line. For example, to make an emergency call, the caller must dial (9)911. All 911 emergency calls will be answered by the Emergency Service Department. The proper emergency agency will then be dispatched to the location of the emergency.

Ashland Community & Technical College Security Department should be notified anytime 911 is called to the campus or the immediate surrounding area so that they can make an incident report.

To make contact with the security department for a non-emergency, the caller can call (606) 326-2176 (office). A list of non-emergency numbers is available to all students, faculty and staff. These numbers are also listed in the inside of the Crisis flip charts posted throughout the college. This list of numbers can be found on this site under emergency numbers.

All accidents or criminal activity must be reported in order for us to keep within the guidelines of the law. These incidents can be reported directly to a security person or you can call (606) 326-2176 to report incidents.

The security department encourages persons to report offenses as soon as possible; because the longer you wait the less likely the offense will be solved.
